Veterans should be a thing of the past.

Marines could have been saved by better body armor

Here’s something to piss you off first thing in the morning: the Times is reporting that a Pentagon study shows that 80% of Marines killed in Iraq could have been saved by improved ceramic body armor that has been available since 2003.

Awesome. Remember what Rummy would say back when he still did press conferences about Iraq? “You fight with the army you have, not with the army you want.” Easy for his draft-dodging ass to say. That remark gets even more sinister in the light of that report.

  1. “Military officials and contractors said the Pentagon’s procurement troubles had stemmed in part from miscalculations that underestimated the strength of the insurgency…”

This says it all. I will be eternally grateful that we(me and my friends) managed to go over there early and get the fuck out before the world really realized what was going on. I think if the Iraqis had been better prepared for the initial ass-whippin’ that we gave them, we might not be alive today. I’m happy to be an outraged citizen, as opposed to a helpless Marine. Fuck Rumsfeld, Fuck Cheney, Fuck Shell Oil, and Fuck George W. Bush. Assholes.
